Currently, Raúl Martínez Martínez is an incoming M.Arch II student at Yale University. Previously, he was an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Theory and History of Architecture at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Study Abroad Program. Specializing in the historiography of modern and postmodern architecture, he has published work related to the concepts of space and empathy as well as methodologies for the analysis of architecture in Journal of the History of Ideas, The Journal of Architecture, arq: Architectural Research Quarterly, Arquitectura Revista, among others.

Raúl Martínez Martínez completed his Bachelor's Degree in Architecture at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2006 with highest honors and was the recipient of the second prize in Dragados Degree Project Awards. He received his Master's of Advanced Studies Degree in the Department of Theory and History of Architecture from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2008. In 2014, he earned his Ph.D. at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya with Summa Cum Laude. Currently, he is an incoming M.Arch II student at Yale University.

Previously, he was an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Theory and History of Architecture at the UPC in 2014-2021, an adjunct lecturer in the Master’s Degree in Parametric Design in Architecture at the UPC School of Professional & Executive Development in 2016-2018, a guest lecturer at the Poznan University of Technology in 2017 and visiting lecturer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014-2016. While completing his Master's, Raúl worked as an architect at Estudio de Arquitectura Alberto Campo Baeza for four years, carrying out responsibilities from initial design to management on national and international projects.

Raúl has spoken and co-chaired at several international conferences on architecture. He specializes in the field of History and Theory of Architecture of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
